Elsa Kit Kincaid is a Rhode Island-based cinematographer and editor whose work is rooted in texture, rhythm, and emotional perspective. After earning her B.A. in Film Production from the University of Rhode Island, she went on to study cinematography at FAMU International in Prague. There, she fell in love with shooting on film and working within an internationally collaborative environment. During the program, she shot multiple projects on 16mm and 35mm, an experience that honed her process and technical understanding of capturing images.
Drawn to introspective, character-driven stories, Elsa is particularly interested in exploring the complexities of human relationships and the quiet moments that define them. She strives to incorporate the subtlety of this viewpoint into each of her projects. She has collaborated with directors and artists from across the world, with work taking her to Prague, the U.K., Toronto, and New Orleans. Her cinematography has screened at festivals internationally, with Agáta receiving multiple selections and her dance film Elegy earning an Outstanding Achievement Award (Screendance Short) at Indie Short Fest.
In addition to narrative filmmaking, Elsa is an ongoing creative partner to 1DoorRecords, collaborating closely with artists on music videos, live performances, and visual content. Alongside this, she works across commercial, event, and sports media through her production practice. With a background in sailing and skiing, she is especially drawn to stories shaped by adventure and environment. She is skilled in challenging operating conditions, able to film while skiing or flying drones from the water. Across formats and genres, Elsa approaches each project with a focus on collaboration and creating a curated visual language, while continuing to learn from her experiences and peers.
